On Wednesday, September 7, the Verkhovna Rada voted on the basis and overall changes to the draft law “On the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine”, which introduced another requirement for candidates for the appointment of the director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine in connection with the introduction of martial law in the country, ZN.UA sources informed the parliament.
We are talking about draft law No. 8003, in which the authors proposed to supplement Chapter II of the Law of Ukraine “On the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine” with a new clause, which states that the director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine cannot be appointed a person who, after the introduction martial law by the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated February 24, 2022 No. 64/2022 “was outside Ukraine for a total of more than 21 days as of the last day of receiving documents from persons applying to participate in the competition.
At the same time, it is noted that that the restriction does not apply to persons who stayed outside of Ukraine for more than the specified period for treatment due to injury, contusion, mutilation, disease related to the performance of military service duties, or on a business trip in connection with the performance of tasks in the interests of national security and defense.< /p>
The draft law was supported in the parliament as a basis and in general with technical and legal amendments and the proposal of the committee.
