In the West, the vision of the war in Ukraine is changing – Klimkin

NATO countries understand that they will not be able to come to an agreement with Putin's regime.

Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin declares that in the West they are preparing for Ukraine to become a member of NATO. Klimkin reported this in an interview with Radio Svoboda.

According to him, the West understood that it would not be possible to come to an agreement with the Putin regime.

“In the last two months, there have been tectonic shifts in thinking, in internal discussions in the West, where everyone perfectly understands that yes, there is an active phase of the war, but, nevertheless, it is necessary to prepare for the fact that Ukraine will become a member of NATO, which is more than gray areas danger than security, someone will definitely undermine them. All these buffer realities will only create new and new problems in the future. Currently, the vision of the Ukrainian-Russian war has begun to change, it has become clear that it will not be possible to negotiate with this regime, it is necessary to talk with it only from the position of strength. Victory in Ukraine in the sense of the strategic defeat of this regime is a matter of treating the West as one that has the principles and values of the XXI century. Through this focus, one can see the entire reset of the world for the XXI century,” Klimkin noted.< /p>

Klimkin believes that Ukraine can become a member of NATO even in a situation where it has not yet regained control over all its territories, and the West is ready for such a scenario.

“This is possible by recognizing that the fifth article and in general all the agreements on NATO membership will for some time only apply to the territory that we control. Perhaps there will be some additional agreements, security guarantees. Some things are changing now in will continue to change in real time,” the ex-minister notes.
