Ukraine will be invited to the first summit of the European Political Community — mass media

Macron suggested creating such a format in May, and the first meeting will be held next month.

In October, the first summit of the European Political community – new political format of the EU. According to the publication Euractiv, Ukraine will be among the invited list.

The city for this summit was chosen due to the fact that the Czech Republic currently presides over the EU.

“Invitations will soon be sent to the summit, which is to be held on October 6-7 in Prague with the participation of the leaders of six Western Balkan countries. It is expected that they will be received by the leaders of Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Great Britain , Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan,” the EU representative told journalists.

The initiator of the creation of the new format was French President Emmanuel Macron. This summit should become a platform for political dialogue and cooperation of the EU together with states that want to join the European Union and countries that do not have such an intention and remain outside the bloc. Meetings within this format will take place every six months.

The main topics of the upcoming summit are Russia's war against Ukraine, the energy crisis and the economic situation in Europe.
