Biden approved $675 million in aid to Ukraine — Austin

US President Joe Biden approved the new an aid package for Ukraine in the amount of about 675 million dollars, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin announced on Thursday, September 8, at the meeting of the contact group of defense ministers at the US military air base “Ramstein” in Germany.

According to the head of the Pentagon, the package will include, in particular:

  • 105-mm howitzers;
  • artillery ammunition for HIMARS;
  • HARM missiles;
  • Humvees ;
  • armored ambulances and artificial intelligence systems.

He noted that the Ukrainian army is already moving to NATO weapons standards, and the Ukrainian military is undergoing appropriate training.

“We aim to repel aggression and help resist the mass murders committed by Russia,” added the head of the American Ministry of Defense and noted that in order to effectively resist Russian aggression, it is necessary to implement many more goals and “seek new approaches.”
