President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev believes that the decision < strong>on Ukraine's membership in NATO can be adopted only after Moscow and Kyiv develop clear provisions for a peaceful settlement of the war, which must be accepted and implemented by both sides. BNR writes about this with reference to the response of the Bulgarian president's press service.
As noted, Radev does not fully support the statement of nine member states of the Alliance regarding Ukraine's inclusion in it. The President agrees with several positions expressed in the document.
“Bulgaria is part of the declaration of the NATO summit in Bucharest in 2008 regarding the future accession of Ukraine, but this declaration was adopted in completely different security conditions,” the message reads.

The press service explained that due to hostilities on the territory of Ukraine, its membership in NATO should be discussed in the full composition of the North Atlantic Council. In addition, the decision should not create a risk of direct involvement of the Alliance in the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
