Pro-Russian rhetoric in Hungary is explained by “concern for security.”
The Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán , has again refused to support Ukraine in repelling Russian aggression . Budapest will not allow weapons, will not send soldiers and will not support the embargo on Russian energy exports.
The Hungarian Prime Minister published the answer to the call of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to help our country on Facebook.
“We will not allow Hungary to be drawn into the war, so we will not send any soldiers or weapons to Ukraine. I repeated this even under President Zelensky. Hungary is our number one priority, ”he wrote.
It will be recalled that on March 24, Zelensky, speaking at the EU summit, appealed to Orban not to repeat the mistakes of World War II, when Hungary chose the wrong side, to unblock arms supplies and stop buying natural gas and oil from Russia.

Hungary opposes the closure of the skies over Ukraine and the deployment of a peacekeeping force, as it “could lead to a ground conflict with NATO.” Budapest will also not support the embargo on Russian energy, without which the country's economy allegedly cannot exist.
In addition, Hungary refuses to allow military aid to Ukraine from other countries, explaining it by the security of Hungarians (Russia has threatened to destroy such aid, but such statements are a bluff, as aid is delivered through NATO member states).
What is happening in Hungary and with Hungary? Why, in words, condemning the Russian invasion of Ukraine, in fact, the Orban government does not allow weapons into our country, but only in transit to other NATO countries? Why does the Russian International Investment Bank still operate there? Why is Hungary not seeking to tighten EU sanctions against Russia? Why is Orban actually playing up to Putin? Maybe Hungary was sold for cheap Russian gas? You can find answers to these and other questions in Vladimir Kravchenko's article ” Why is Orban playing Putin?” »In ZN . UA .
