Вопрос компенсации Украине за нанесенный ущерб в ходе полномасштабной войны точно встанет – директор ФБК Навльного

The question of compensation to Ukraine for the damage caused during the full-scale war will certainly arise, but from what sources Russia will do so is still unclear. This was stated in an interview with ZN.UA by the director of the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK) Alexei Navalny Vladimir Ashurkov , with whom Inna Vedernikova spoke .

“The question of compensation to Ukraine for the damage caused during the war will certainly arise. It is not yet clear from what sources this will come – from the seized and confiscated assets or from the Russian budget. Its decision may take years. Now the efforts of Western countries are aimed at influencing Russia in order to end hostilities. After this happens, the discussion and resolution of the issue of compensation will begin, “Ashurkov said.

At the same time, according to him, the assessment of how much the elites earned in stones and gold in Russia and Russia will always be subjective. The same applies to funds withdrawn from the country, as well as those under the hood of the United States.

“It is clear that we are talking about hundreds of billions of dollars,” Ashurkov said.

Asked whether, in his opinion, Europe will join the fight against Russian corruption, the director of the FBK said that “sanctions imposed by the European Union affect hundreds of people. I am confident that the Europeans themselves will actively arrest the assets of persons under sanctions, we see this now in the high-profile arrests of oligarchs' yachts, and will coordinate the search for assets with the US and British agencies, “Ashurkov added.

Vladimir Ashurkov said that the sanctions imposed on Russia for a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, created motivation to change the regime for those who fell under them . He also explained why the United States called for help in collecting data on Russian corrupt officials.
