However, there are three things that could contribute to a coup in the Kremlin.
In the short term, the regime of Russian President Vladimir Putin is stable . Vladimir Kravchenko is convinced of this in his article Operation Snuffbox: Three Conditions for Removing Putin .
However, there are three preconditions for a coup in the Russian Federation. The following happened:
- Increased personal risks for Vladimir Putin's entourage. So far, financial constraints and personal difficulties are not enough to overthrow the president, but if the number increases, a new operation “Snuffbox” may begin.
- Weakness of the president, deterioration of his health. If Putin's entourage feels that the leader is weakening and the number of personal threats is increasing, Russia's elite may take action.
- Public demand. Today, up to 80 percent of Russia's population supports its president. However, if you are asked to remove the leader, they will use it.
Given information from interviewed experts and interlocutors from the Ukrainian secret services , Volodymyr Kravchenko does not see any of these three preconditions. In general, the Russian government is just cemented.
