In the letter, Lambrecht noted that the Gepard anti-aircraft defense system of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is mostly used to protect critical infrastructure, as well as sea ports, which is very important for the export of Ukrainian agricultural products. That is why, Lambrecht is convinced, Germany and Switzerland must necessarily satisfy Ukraine's request for additional ammunition.
So far, Switzerland has refused to issue the necessary permits for the re-export of ammunition for Gepard, which is produced by the Zurich company Oerlikon-Bührle, because that Switzerland seeks to maintain neutrality in international conflicts.
