Germany reminded that the agreements are only about dollars and euros.
The countries of the European Union are not going to pay Russia for the gas it provides in rubles . This was stated by the Prime Minister of Slovenia Janez Janša before the EU summit in Brussels, European Truth reports.
“I don't think anyone in Europe really knows what the ruble looks like. No one will pay in rubles, “he said.
The Slovenian head of government also clarified that ending dependence on Russian energy is a very important task.
“The EU must reduce its dependence on Russian energy as soon as possible. It will not happen overnight, my country is also partially dependent, but we support it. As soon as possible means next month, otherwise we will give money to the Russian military vehicle, “Jansa said.
Meanwhile, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that the agreement on the supply of energy from Russia referred to the settlement in European and American currencies.
“The agreements are about the euro and the dollars … These are the starting points from which we must start,” Scholz said.
