The Ukrainian president has stated that there are compromises that an independent state cannot reach.
Ukraine cannot give up its territorial integrity, President Vladimir Zelensky said on CNN. He noted that there are compromises that Ukraine cannot reach in talks with the president of the aggressor country, Vladimir Putin.
“There are compromises that we, as an independent state, cannot be ready for,” Zelensky said, answering a journalist's question about Russia's demands. Among the latter are the recognition of Ukrainian Crimea as part of Russia, the recognition of the “independence” of the illegal armed groups “DPR” and “LPR” and the refusal of NATO membership.
“There are no compromises related to our territorial integrity and our sovereignty, and the Ukrainian people have spoken about it. They did not greet Russian soldiers with a bouquet of flowers, they greeted them bravely, they greeted them with weapons in their hands, “Zelensky added.
The Ukrainian president also said that Russia “cannot forcibly flatter the citizens of another country… You cannot force the president of another country to admit anything.”
According to a poll conducted by the sociological group “Rating”, the real way to end the war, most citizens of Ukraine see the search for compromises in negotiations with other countries – such in the country 64%. At the same time, Ukrainians are not ready to give up either Crimea or Donbass: most believe that Ukraine should use all opportunities to return the occupied territories of Donbass (86%) and Crimea (80%).

- Recognition of Crimea by Russia as Russian.
- Recognition by Ukraine of the independence of the DNR and LNR within the administrative boundaries of the oblasts (including the territories currently controlled by Ukraine).
- “Denazification”. Prohibition of the activities of ultranationalist, Nazi and neo-Nazi parties and public organizations, repeal of existing laws on the glorification of Nazis and neo-Nazis.
- “Demilitarization of Ukraine”. Complete rejection of offensive weapons, under which, if desired, you can fit any type of weapon.
