Zelensky introduced sanctions against Yanukovych, Deripaska, Kurchenko and Lebedev

Restrictive measures are applied for ten years.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi on Wednesday, October 12 , put into effect the NSDC's decision to impose sanctions against the fugitive president Viktor Yanukovych, the fugitive businessman connected with him Serhiy Kurchenko, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine during Yanukovych's time Pavel Lebedev, as well as the Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska. This is stated in the corresponding decree posted on the official website of the head of state.

According to the annex to the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, our country should block the assets of the four mentioned persons – temporarily deprive them of the right to use them as their own, as well as assets directly or indirectly related to them. The sanctions will be in effect for ten years.

These restrictive measures added to the list of persons already subject to personal special economic and other sanctions of Ukraine.

By decree, Zelensky instructed the Secretary of the National Security Council Oleksiy Danilov to monitor the implementation of the decision. The Cabinet of Ministers, the Security Service and the National Bank must ensure the implementation and monitoring of the effectiveness of the restrictive measures introduced.

In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is instructed to inform the relevant bodies of the European Union, the United States and other states about new sanctions and call on them to introduce similar restrictions.
