The President of the European Parliament Robert Metzol promised to quickly recognize Ukraine as a candidate for membership in the European Union and to help rebuild Ukrainian cities and villages. She stated this at a briefing in Kiev, where she is on a visit.
“We recognize Ukraine as a candidate for accession to the European Union officially and quickly. I promise you this from the entire European Parliament, “Metsola said.
She also noted that the EU will make every effort to rebuild Ukrainian cities and villages after the war, which suffered devastating blows from the aggressor.

According to her, Ukraine is already receiving and will continue to receive financial, humanitarian and military assistance. European partners will also continue to help refugees who have had to leave Ukraine.
“They will be at home with us until they can really return to their homeland,” Metsola said.
