The war continues, Ukraine needs heavy weapons, and new sanctions should be imposed against Russia — the Polish MFA

In Poland, they urged not to fall into euphoria against the background of the latest successes of the Armed Forces, but to help Ukraine even more actively.

In recent weeks, Ukrainian soldiers launched a swift and successful counteroffensive in the east and south of the country, liberating dozens of settlements from the Russian invaders. Despite the successes of the Armed Forces, one should not fall into euphoria and think that the war will end soon. For the final victory, the West must provide Ukraine with heavy weapons and impose new painful sanctions against the Russian Federation. This opinion was expressed by the Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland Witold Sobkuw at the conference “Russian war against Ukraine” in Ankara. He is quoted by “Ukrinform”.

“Ukraine is winning, and for that it is a great honor, but the war is not over yet. We must continue to supply Ukraine with heavy weapons, military equipment and ammunition; we must continue the sanctions pressure so that Russia is cut off from the latest technologies and IT services; we must completely abandon Russian energy resources, we must oppose the ideology of the “Russian peace” and propaganda; we must also apply sanctions individually and on individual companies, strengthen visa restrictions, disconnect banks from the general settlement system, we must strengthen our eastern flanks,” said Sobkuv.

According to the diplomat, the strengthening of NATO's eastern flank is possible only when the military presence of the Alliance in Poland and other Eastern European countries increases not only at the expense of headquarters, but also at the expense of personnel in the amount of several thousand soldiers.
