Verkhovna Rada today, July 19 , supported the dismissal of Iryna Venediktova from the post of Prosecutor General of Ukraine. 264 deputies voted for the relevant decision.
As People's Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported, Iryna Venediktova was present at the meeting, and the dismissal took place with discussion. The deputies did not make any claims or accusations against her.
“The question of appointing a replacement was also not discussed today,” Zheleznyak added.
” 198 deputies of “Servants of the People”, 14 from “Platform for Life and Peace”, 17 members of “Trust”, ten representatives of “Restoration of Ukraine”, nine from the group “For the Future” and six non-factions voted for the dismissal of the Prosecutor General. about the dismissal of the Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova. At the same time, earlier the entourage of the president planned to release Venediktova by expressing no confidence in her by deputies of the Verkhovna Rada.
Venediktova herself, who was suspended on July 17 by presidential decree from performing the duties of the prosecutor general refused to recognize the legality of such a move by the president< /strong>she announced to her deputy Oleksiy Simonenko as well as to a group of supporters in the Office of the Prosecutor General that she is going to carry out her duties in the future.
