On May 31, the Verkhovna Rada voted for dismissal of Lyudmila Denisova from the post of ombudsman . Denisova's resignation was initiated by the “Servant of the People” faction, which gathered more than 100 votes to initiate consideration of the issue. The faction accuses Denisov of lack of work results, incompetence and submission of facts about the crimes of Russian troops in Ukraine, which only damage the reputation, because they failed to prove them.
Verkhovna Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk said on June 21 that he proposed Dmytro Lubinets, People's Deputy, to the position of the Commissioner for Human Rights.
Dmytro Lubinets is a lawyer, People's Deputy of Ukraine of the VIII convocation (from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc) and the IX convocation. In 2019, he ran for the Verkhovna Rada as a non-partisan self-nominated candidate in the №60 constituency (Donetsk region) and became a member of the For the Future parliamentary group, which later transformed into a party.
