A vote in the House of Representatives is expected tomorrow.
The US Senate approved a bill on funding of government programs, including $12.4 billion in aid to Ukraine. The initiative was supported by more than 60 parliamentarians, which is necessary for its approval. The meeting was broadcast by the C-SPAN channel.
The funds will be used for both military aid and financial support for the government of Ukraine.
They plan to spend $3 billion on military needs. The money will go to the purchase and delivery of weapons, equipment and supplies, maintenance, “paying salaries to the rear support”, as well as providing intelligence to the Ukrainian Armed Forces and security forces.
Another $4.5 billion is proposed to be directed to the economic support of Kyiv, in particular, ensuring the work of government bodies, which will ensure macroeconomic stability and provide basic services for citizens.
The draft law also allows President Joe Bidentransfer $3.7 billion worth of arms to Ukraine from the US arsenals. $2.04 billion has been earmarked for the replenishment of the US's own stockpiles of weapons and the production of new ammunition.
Almost $3 billion is planned to be spent on supporting the US troops deployed in Europe another $2 million – for accounting and control over the spending of funds within the scope of assistance. $35 million is earmarked for “preparation and response to potential nuclear and radiation incidents in Ukraine”.
The bill must be approved by both houses of the US Congress by October 1. And if not, then from Monday, October 3, federal agencies will be forced to suspend work. The House of Representatives is expected to vote on the draft law on September 30.

It will be recalled that the administration of the President of the United States of America has requested the allocation of a new package of emergency military and economic assistance to Ukraine in the amount of $11.7 billion. The participants in the negotiations regarding the corresponding draft law have previously agreed to include the required amount in it.
In addition, in the near future, the USA plans to announce the allocation of an aid package to Ukraine in the amount of $1.1 billion. The new package will include HIMARS artillery systems and ammunition for them, various types of anti-drone and radar systems.
