Russia's Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Dmitry Polyansky considers it possible to use nuclear weapons in the event of provocation by NATO.
Russian diplomat Dmitry Polyansky does not rule out the possibility of a nuclear strike by Russia in the event of an “existential threat”, he said in an interview with Sky News.
Russia's Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Dmitry Polyansky, one of Russia's leading diplomats in the United States, once again voiced patterns of Russian propaganda in an interview with Sky News. The key topic of discussion was the war in Ukraine and the possibility of using nuclear weapons.
“If Russia is provoked by NATO, if Russia is attacked by NATO, then why not, we are a nuclear state,” Polyansky said when asked if the Russian president was doing the right thing.
“I don't think it's right to say that. But you shouldn't threaten Russia and try to intervene. So when you are dealing with a nuclear state, of course, you have to calculate all the possible consequences of your behavior,” the Russian diplomat continued.
Meanwhile, Polyansky denies all accusations by the Russian government of war crimes against Ukraine. In his opinion, all the videos and photos taken in the Ukrainian cities defeated by the Russian army are fake.

After the journalist showed the diplomat photos taken by journalists of the Associated Press in Mariupol, he refused to accept Russia's responsibility. But he stated that Ukraine itself is attacking its own cities.
“They were not the target,” said Dmitry Polyansky. “We have said from the beginning that our military does not pose a threat to the civilian population of Ukraine.”
Such statements and “wild” statements about fake news of Russian diplomats increasingly isolate them and Russia from the civilized world.
We will remind, earlier the USA and Turkey officially accused Russia of war crimes in Ukraine.
