The Rada proposed to change the words of the National Anthem of Ukraine

Two bills have already been registered in the parliament.

В Раде предложили изменить слова Государственного гимна Украины

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine registered two bills with a proposal to amend the text of the National Anthem of Ukraine. The first bill under №7162 was registered on March 16 by the former “Servant of the People” Lyudmila Buimister, and the second under the number №7162-1 on March 28 was submitted by the current “servants” Ivan Yunakov and Georgy Mazurashu.

The wording of the Buimister bill proposes to change the first two lines of the verse to:

“Ukraine will win! And glory, and will,

Because fate smiled on us, young brothers. “

The need for such changes, the author of the document justifies the need to establish awareness of new victories.

In the version of Mazurash and Yunakov, it is proposed to rewrite the entire anthem, leaving the old leitmotif.

“Ukraine is prospering, its glory and freedom!

Our Ukrainian brothers have already smiled!

Our fortune tellers perish like dew in the sun,

For we, brethren, reign on our side.

Chorus:

We have strengthened our soul and body for our freedom,

Because for centuries we have been brothers of the Cossack family!

The Black Sea laughs at us, grandfather Dnieper rejoices

Because in our Ukraine the little one is blooming!

And hard work sincerely will unite us all

The song of freedom is louder in Ukraine!

Chorus:

We have strengthened our soul and body for our freedom,

For centuries we have been brothers of the Cossack family! ”

“Victory in the war for its existence and demonstrated ability to defend its statehood and sovereign territories led to the need to amend the National Anthem of Ukraine, filling it with new content and character,” – said the authors of the law.

We will remind that the Law of Ukraine “About the National Anthem of Ukraine” was accepted in 2003. According to the article of the first law, the national anthem is the national anthem to the music of M. Verbitsky with the words of the first verse and chorus of the work of P. Chubinsky.
