The Pentagon has prepared a new package for Ukraine weapons and other aid in the amount of 275 million US dollars and will announce it already today, October 28. This was reported by the Associated Press with reference to American officials who spoke on condition of anonymity.
The publication indicates that with this aid package, the Pentagon aims to strengthen efforts to push Russian troops out of key areas in the south. It will not include any new types of weapons, but there will be additional ammunition, in particular for the highly mobile HIMARS missile and artillery systems, which Ukraine is successfully using in its counteroffensive against Russia.

The publication notes that this aid package was formed after federal officials announced a plan to combat the illegal movement of conventional weapons in Eastern Europe. It is aimed at ensuring that weapons transferred to Ukraine do not end up in the hands of Russian forces, their aides, or other extremist groups. In the plan announced by the State Department on Thursday, it is noted that accounting for weapons is especially difficult during an active war and when there is no large US presence on the ground.
