“The new head of SAP is not a prosecutor. And prosecutors are a caste, the white bone of the system. And they really don't like it when a person from outside comes to manage them. All the more so if she starts pumping rights. And Klimenko will start. Including disciplinary proceedings against prosecutors of the SAP, who have been especially absent during these years,” the author notes.
Sources in the Prosecutor General's Office also believe that Klymenko has no allies at all within the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, and even those who could become a conditional support for him are now at the front, and it will be difficult and long to find new accomplices.
“Another problem for Klymenko is his first deputy Andrii Sinyuk, who was the main opponent in the competition. According to the law, he became the first deputy chairman of the SAP. Sinyuk, the ex-prosecutor of the 1st department of the OGPU, is the person of the ex-deputy of Venediktova Oleksiy Simonenko. It was Simonenko who was “pushed” to the position of Prosecutor General by the Deputy Head of the OPU Tatarov. But Yermak a priori pushes harder. However, regardless of the name of the winning pro-curator, another leak has already appeared in SAP,” Vedernikova points out.
However, according to sources, the head of SAP does not immediately plan to conflict with his deputy, but wants to give him a chance to make the right choice and an opportunity to prove himself.The situation is further complicated by the fact that he personally will not be able to fire Sinyuk – the structure of the SAP is approved by the Prosecutor General in agreement with the director of NABU, who has not yet been elected.
At the same time, Klymenko has maintained good professional relations with acting director of NABU Gizo Uglava, as well as the current head of the detective department of NABU Andriy Kalujynskyi. He also continued communication with the ex-director of the agency Artem Sytnyk, who is now the deputy head of the NAKC, therefore, as Vedernikova notes, “if you follow the logic of the authorities, you can put a plus in the item “the roof of the head of the SAP”.< /p>
In the NABU itself, where Klymenko previously worked, he is characterized as an “honest cop” who “is not a politician, does not know how to maneuver and will certainly trample many feet”. including defense and security issues, so he is well aware of what needs special attention right now, in the conditions of war. Behind him are the real and most image cases: Nasirov, Gladkovskyi and others like them, the respect and support of the NABU team. On the one hand, it is necessary to bring the work of the prosecutor's office into a legal direction with the existing personnel. And on the other hand, to take preventive measures capable of resisting possible internal sabotage,” the author notes.
Recall that Oleksandr Klymenko was approved by the Prosecutor General for the position of head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office on July 28. The competition for the position of head of SAP lasted almost two years.
