The decision was adopted pursuant to the Law “On Amendments to the Tax Code and Other Legislative Acts of Ukraine Concerning the Validity of Norms for the Period of Martial Law”.
The National Bank has determined the procedure for banks in the case of crediting cash to the accounts of individuals in the amount of more than 400 thousand UAH and failure to provide documents on sources of origin at the request of the bank. The relevant procedure will be applied during martial law in Ukraine.
This decision was made by the National Bank in pursuance of the Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine and Other Legislative Acts of Ukraine Concerning the Validity of Norms for the Period of Martial Law.”
And the procedure itself was approved by the resolution of the Board of the National Bank of Ukraine of April 8, 2022 №69 “On amendments to the resolution of the Board of the National Bank of Ukraine of March 23, 2022 № 60 ». It will operate during martial law in Ukraine.
According to the decision of the NBU, if the client in the case of crediting cash in excess of 400 thousand UAH does not provide at the request of the bank documents or information necessary to establish the sources of such funds, expenditure transactions on this account will be limited.
In case of limited funds on the account, it will be possible to carry out only financial operations in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, crediting funds to the accounts of the Armed Forces and a special account opened by the National Bank. policy of Ukraine, opened by the National Bank, as well as the purchase of domestic government bonds “Military Bonds”.
All other measures are taken by banks in accordance with the law in in the field of financial monitoring .
