The Minister of Defense of Romania advised NATO and the USA to freeze the war in Ukraine, Zelenskyi has already responded

In his opinion, these countries should conduct negotiations with the Russian Federation regarding “peace in Ukraine”.

The Minister of Defense of Romania Vasile Dincu said that the only the opportunity to achieve peace in Ukraine is negotiations with Russia on the part of NATO countries and the USA, he said this on the air of the Romanian television channel Prima TV on Saturday, writes the Romanian publication G4 Media.

“The only chance for peace may be negotiations with Russia Of course, these are difficult negotiations,” he said.

At the same time, according to him, negotiations should not be conducted by Ukraine, since the “political class in Ukraine” cannot currently take responsibility for “the loss of territories, in the end, unjust loss of territories”.

“The countries of the world, NATO, the USA should conduct negotiations on security guarantees for Ukraine and peace with Russia”, – believes the head of the Ministry of Defense of Romania.

According to him, it is “ideal” to even reach such a situation when the conflict will simply be frozen. , because the Russian Federation is saving resources to prolong hostilities.

“Negotiations will still bring more benefit than what is happening now – the destruction of human lives and property,” Dinku added.

In response, the head of the parliamentary faction of the “Servant of the People” presidential party, David Arakhamia, said that Ukraine is ready for negotiations with Western countries, but with regard to joining NATO as soon as possible.

“This is the only topic on which we can have a conversation at this time, Russia is superfluous in these negotiations. Collective security and strong Armed Forces of Ukraine are the only guarantee of peace on the European continent. Therefore, the West's negotiating efforts should be directed in this direction,” he wrote.

It should be noted that this is not the first time Russia has been played along by the Romanian side recently. For example, recently the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Andrei Marga, suggested that Crimea and Donbas be given to Russia, and Bukovina of Ukraine to Romania.
