Russia's ultimatums are no longer being discussed, the main discussion of the parties concerns the fate of the Russian-occupied Crimea and Donbass.
Adviser to the head of the President's Office Mikhail Podoliak called the status of the occupied Crimea and Donbass a key issue in the talks with Russia. He wrote about this in his informal Telegram channel.
During the negotiations, the demands of the Russian side are reduced, most of the ultimatums issued at the beginning of the war are no longer discussed. The main topic for discussion remains the fate of the occupied Crimea, Luhansk and Donetsk.
“De jure, Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk remain part of Ukraine, but we do not actually control them, the Russian administration works there. I cannot disclose details, as this could disrupt the negotiation process,” Podoliak said.
An adviser to the head of the president's office later recalled on his Twitter account important information security rules.
“Unfortunately, 28 days of war were not enough for us to understand the main thing: Russia is no longer fighting against the Ukrainian army, but only against our logistics centers, rubber convoys, centers for supply and distribution of food, clothing, medicine. And against civilians wishing to leave fighting or siege, “said Mikhail Podolyak.
