The G7 tied the allocation of money to the Ukrainian energy industry to the fulfillment of the promise to form the Supervisory Board of the NAK

The ambassadors of the G7 countries made a tough demand to the Ukrainian authorities.

On Thursday, a meeting of diplomats representing the G7 countries (mostly ambassadors) and key managers of the Ukrainian government, who are responsible for preparing the country for winter, took place in Kyiv. Among them were, in particular, Minister of Fuel and Energy Herman Galushchenko, Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Chernyshov, Chairman of Naftogaz Yuriy Vitrenko and Chairman of Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytskyi.

It was about the provision of money promised by the G7 countries, which should help Ukraine solve energy problems, problems of restoration and heating this winter.

The message conveyed by representatives of the “seven”, according to ZN.UA , was clear and categorical:

“From the four of you, I want to hear the name of a person to whom I can explain our joint position on the exceptional importance of the immediate formation of the Supervisory Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine.” It is impossible to further underestimate the seriousness of our attitude to corporate governance”, – said the ambassador, it is scary to say which country.

G7 representatives assured Ukrainian politicians and officials that until the Ukrainian authorities fulfill their promise, which it has already given more than once, and will not form the Supervisory Board, whose functions are now performed by the Cabinet of Ministers — “Ukraine will not receive a single penny of the funds promised by the “seven” countries.”

We remind you that that in May 2021, the ambassadors of the USA, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy and Japan appealed to the Ukrainian authorities and called for a quick resolution of the issue regarding the supervisory board of Naftogaz JSC.
