The European Union has reported that the number of refugees from Ukraine has decreased.

Совет ЕС единогласно согласовал план по 10 пунктам относительно беженцев из Украины

French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanen and EU Commissioner for Home Affairs Ilva Johansson said that the Council of the European Union had unanimously agreed on a plan for 10 points in support of Ukrainian refugees, reports DW. The plan also applies to EU countries that host the majority of Ukrainian refugees. The Extraordinary Meeting of the Ministers of Internal Affairs of the EU and the Schengen area was attended by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky via video link.

“This plan provides for the creation of an EU platform for the registration of all incoming and outgoing temporary protection,” Johansson explained the first point of the approved plan.

Today, this registration is carried out only within each state of the European Union, without the exchange of information between national systems.

Also in the plan it is a question of development of measures for counteraction to exploitation of the Ukrainian refugees by criminal groups. A separate item concerns the admission of children, including those who arrived in the EU without adults. The Council of the European Union has also decided to activate a special anti-crime platform to avoid security threats.

According to the European Commissioner, the number of refugees from Ukraine arriving in the European Union is declining. If in the peak days more than 200,000 people came to escape the full-scale war unleashed by the Russian Federation, now this figure has dropped to 40,000. A total of 3.8 million Ukrainian refugees have arrived in the European Union, half of them children, Johansson said.
