Shmigal wants to invite the world's best economists and futurologists to work in the Platform for the Restoration of Ukraine.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmigal announced that the Platform for the Recovery of Ukraine will provide for the creation of a high-level advisory council. In particular, negotiations are underway for Francis Fukuyama and Leszek Baltserovych to join it, Interfax-Ukraine reports. Fukuyama, with Mr. Leszek Baltserovych, that is, world names, Nobel laureates, who will gather and generate on a scientific basis a vision for the development of the macro situation in Ukraine, financial markets, and the business sphere,” Shmigal said on the air of the national telethon on Thursday evening.
After the end of the Russian-Ukrainian war, Ukraine will face an expensive and undoubtedly important process of physical and economic recovery. However, according to the American political economist and Stanford University professor Francis Fukuyama, Kyiv will need another much more important restructuring. “In my opinion, the development of the Ukrainian political and economic structure, which existed in Ukraine before the war, will be much more important. In particular, one of the biggest problems of Ukraine was the dominance of a number of influential and rich people in the economy and political system. They controlled TV channels and other mass media. Now, after the war, Ukraine will have a chance to change this and solve the old problems that did not allow the country to develop. This old dominance cannot be allowed to return,” Fukuyama noted.
