Ukraine is counting on allies.
The military missile threat to Kyiv will remain until the last day of the war, but the threat of a nuclear strike is more predictable and will not come as a surprise, neither in Ukraine nor in the world. This was stated by military expert Oleg Zhdanov on the air of Ukraine 24 TV channel.
“It (missile threat – ed.) Will remain until the last day of the war. And it all depends on the skill of our air defense to intercept missiles. Or the help of our partners, if they give us something more modern and efficient than the S-300,” said the expert. .
At the same time, answering the question whether Ukraine or its allies could predict a nuclear strike, Zhdanov replied that such information would be available to intelligence./p>
“Everything is there. Both at the level of intelligence and electronic intelligence. Especially with our partners. Such as the United States, Britain and other countries. The same Japan, I think, will not refuse to help us. So, control, even the movement of nuclear warheads is, in principle, quite possible, “he said.
Zhdanov unequivocally confirmed that a nuclear strike will not be possible unexpectedly.
“No. It will be almost impossible to hide it today. I think as soon as an order for nuclear weapons comes from the bunker, the whole world will know about it,” he said.
Recall, the world must be prepared for the fact that Russia can use tactical nuclear weapons. The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi said this in an interview with the American TV channel CNN.
(Not only me, but all countries should be concerned (that Russia will use nuclear weapons – ed.). This may be not real information, but the truth. They have already said that we have chemical weapons, we should expect that (The occupiers) will do it, “he said.” Putin began to frighten the world with nuclear war even before the invasion of Ukraine. ” He explicitly stated that although the capabilities of NATO and Russia are incompatible, the latter is a nuclear power and will use these weapons when necessary.
“You won't even have time to blink an eye on how to fulfill clause five of the Treaty of Rome,” Putin threatened in early February 2022.
Recall, March 25, 1957 Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg signed the Treaty of Rome in 2006, which laid the foundations for the functioning of the European Atomic Energy Community. The Euratom Treaties entered into force on 1 January 1958.
All 27 EU Member States are now in Euratom.
Euratom is designed to promote:
- the development of peaceful uses of nuclear energy by member states,
- the formation of a common energy policy ,
- coordination of decision-making,
- reduction of energy prices,
- increase of energy stability,
- ensuring control over nuclear energy. li>
After Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the European Commission suspended the participation of all Russian NGOs in Euratom programs.
