The Russian general turned from a favorite of the President of the Russian Federation into an unnecessary link between him and other military personnel.
The “special operation” of the Russian Federation in Ukraine has not been going according to plan for a long time and Vladimir Putin is trying to find an excuse for the failure, regularly covering himself with “gestures of goodwill”. The head of the Kremlin considers Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu to be the main culprit of the failed offensive of the Russian army. The latter lost the dictator's trust and actually ceased to direct the actions of the military in Ukraine. This was reported by the publication “Vazhney istorii”.
Journalists, citing their own sources close to the Russian General Staff, claim that Putin stopped listening to Shoigu's advice after the minister's “three-day plan” to capture Kyiv failed.
At the beginning of the war, Shoigu, together with the FSB, misinformed Putin about the course of events at the front, talking about the “successes” of his army. According to his plan, the Russians were supposed to capture Ukraine quickly and exclusively with the help of contractors, without the involvement of additional units and mobilization. Over time, the general's frivolity became obvious to everyone, including Putin.

After the failure of Shoigu's blitzkrieg lost the trust of the Russian president. It got to the point that Putin began to lead the troops on his own, but it did not increase the effectiveness of the occupying army. Therefore, the Kremlin dictator decided to rely on the heads of individual areas, thereby bypassing Shoigu himself, who now turned out to be unnecessary.
Also, the sources of “Important Histories” report that appointments to some key positions in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation are now being made without Shoigu's knowledge. As an example, they cite the appointment in June of this year as the commander of the airborne forces of Colonel-General Mikhail Teplinsky, who is an “old enemy” of the minister.
