Scholz promised the countries of Eastern Europe to compensate for the armored vehicles they provided to Ukraine

The Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany officially announced that his country is engaged in the circular supply of weapons, which is connected with the invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.

Germany pursues a rather restricted policy regarding the provision of direct military aid to Ukraine, but continues to work on the circular supply of weapons for the Armed Forces. Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz promised the Czech Republic, Poland and other countries of Eastern Europe to compensate for the armored vehicles that they provided to Kyiv to resist the occupying forces of the Russian Federation. This is reported by the BBC.

On August 29, at a joint press conference with the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Petr Fiala, in Prague, Scholz stated that Germany reimburses NATO countries from Eastern Europe for the military equipment provided to Ukraine and will continue to do so in the future. In particular, we are talking about cooperation with such countries as Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, which at one time or another transferred Soviet aircraft, tanks and other weapons to the Armed Forces.

The BBC notes that the information about Germany's active participation in circular supplies of armored vehicles was known earlier, but it was officially announced only now.
