40 countries voted for and 11 against.
The General Assembly of the United Nations World Tourism Organization voted by a majority to suspend Russia's membership in the organization. This was announced by the head of the State Agency for Tourism Development of Ukraine Maryana Oleskiv on Facebook.
According to her, the decision was supported by 40 countries.
11 voted against, including Syria, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Nicaragua, Zimbabwe, Algeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Korea, China and Egypt.
Oleskov also commented on Russia's intention to withdraw from the WTO on its own, which Russia announced before the vote for its exclusion.
“The scenario desired by Russia did not work. It was not possible to tell the world that they left the UN WTO themselves. Failed to save face. But we managed to be ashamed again and scandalized in the final convulsions, “said the head of the State Tourism Agency.
According to Oleskiv, Russia must be completely transformed, “go through a long civilization, gain new qualities – in humanity, erudition, honor and values” to re-claim a place among the “peaceful, friendly, decent and honest” members of the organization. >
She added that now many countries are ready to help Ukraine – “kind words, professional advice, expertise in the development of tourism”.
“Ukraine will be reborn and become a new large market with new investment opportunities , for travel, for a unique experience and emotions “, – summed up the head of DART.
Recall that in early April, the UN General Assembly suspended Russia's membership in the Human Rights Council .
