The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted a law on admission to universities in 2022 under a simplified procedure, which provides for the abolition this year of the state final certification, VNO, a single entrance exam and a single professional entrance test. At the same time, enrollment in higher accreditation institutions will be based on the results of a single multidisciplinary online test.
The explanatory note to the bill notes that the war destroyed the educational process, so the abolition of GIA, VNO, a single entrance exam and a single professional entrance test will be a kind of encouragement of young people to study in Ukraine.
The law states that GIA, VNO and other tests are canceled only for 2022, as a forced exception due to the inability to fully test.
Thus, graduates of secondary schools in the 2021/2022 academic year are exempted from passing the state final certification, and admission to higher education institutions this year will be without the use of external independent assessment, a single entrance exam and a single professional entrance test.
At the same time, as noted by MP Natalia Pipa, the decision was made after lengthy discussions, taking into account all the circumstances.
“Changes are possible depending on the situation with the front. The following is planned for today: Multidisciplinary online test (Ukrainian language, history of Ukraine, mathematics), which must be taken in safe places. Accordingly, it is necessary to take not three tests, but one. Delivery in embassies and consulates of Ukraine abroad is considered. It is planned to be held in July, ”the deputy clarified the details.
Pippa stressed that such a decision is not final and may undergo changes or transformations.
“Testing, as always, will be conducted by the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment. The Ministry of Education and Science is developing the function in detail. The Cabinet must approve, “she added.
Earlier it was reported that due to the war, the Ministry of Education and Science is developing a mechanism for one-time admission to universities in VNO and EVI (the only entrance exam) in 2022.
Some schools that stopped teaching at the start of the war have resumed where possible. In particular, children who are forced to move to other regions can go to schools where they are now.
