Putin's statement is a sign of weakness – Liz Truss and Ursula von der Leyen

The leaders are sure that Russia's invasion of Ukraine will fail.

Prime Minister of Great Britain Liz Truss and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, are convinced that the announcement by Russian President Vladimir Putin about the immediate partial mobilization of Russian citizensis a sign of weakness. They announced this in a joint statement.

“This is also a sign that Russia's invasion will fail,” the two leaders said in a statement after meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.

They noted the courage and bravery of the Ukrainian people and emphasized the joint commitment to support Ukraine in its struggle as long as it is needed.
