The leaders are sure that Russia's invasion of Ukraine will fail.
Prime Minister of Great Britain Liz Truss and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, are convinced that the announcement by Russian President Vladimir Putin about the immediate partial mobilization of Russian citizensis a sign of weakness. They announced this in a joint statement.
“This is also a sign that Russia's invasion will fail,” the two leaders said in a statement after meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.
They noted the courage and bravery of the Ukrainian people and emphasized the joint commitment to support Ukraine in its struggle as long as it is needed.

It was the first face-to-face meeting between Truss and von der Leyen since the British prime minister took office earlier this month.
Truss is expected to double British support to Ukraine. It is currently known that London plans to allocate 2.6 billion dollars for military support to Ukraine next year.
