Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev admitted that holding the so-called “referendums” in Donbas will help, first of all, to “untie the hands” of Russia on the battlefield, since it will lose in the war that it itself started against Ukraine. He wrote about this on his Telegram channel.
“They (referendums – ed.) completely change the vector of Russia's development for decades. And not only our country. Since after their holding and the acceptance of new territories into Russia, geopolitical transformation in the world will become irreversible, – everything Medvedev still hopes. – Encroachment on the territory of Russia is a crime, the commission of which allows the use of all self-defense forces.But it is no less important that after making changes to the Constitution of our state, no future head of Russia, no official will be able to reverse these decisions”.
ZN.UA already explained that The Kremlin decided to go all-in, organizing the annexation of Donbas according to the “Crimean scenario”. The illegal recognition of the Ukrainian region as a subject of the federation will give the aggressor a reason to turn the war against Ukraine into a full-fledged “war of Ukraine and NATO against the Russian Federation “: strikes on the territory of two regions with the use of weapons transferred by allies will be interpreted by Russia as an attack on itself. This will free the hands of the aggressor in every sense.
