Poland will extend the term of payments for Ukrainian refugees

The Polish Sejm voted in favor of amending the relevant law by an absolute majority.

Polish Sejm approves new amendments to the Law on Special Assistance for Ukrainian Refugees. According to them, the term of payment of housing and food assistance to Ukrainians will be extended for another 60 days.

According to Onet.pl, the absolute majority voted for the extension of payments. deputies – 429. 10 members of the far-right force “Confederation” spoke against.

The amended amendments provide for housing and food assistance to refugees from Ukraine for up to 120 days. The amount of assistance per person is 40 zlotys (about 300 hryvnias) per day.

The law also provides for the possibility of control over these payments. The government will maintain a database of requests for benefits, from which this information can be obtained by local governments.

In order for the new rules to take effect, they must be approved by the Senate and signed by the President of Poland Andrzej Duda.
