Cossack's calls are almost the only attempt to contact the Russian side with the Ukrainian side after the invasion.
Deputy of the Russian President's Administration and Kremlin curator for Ukraine Dmitriy Kozak at the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion called the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak several times, his adviser Mykhailo Podolyak said.
< p>“Mr. Kozak made a call to Yermak, he made several attempts and said that it is necessary to fulfill the demands of the Russian Federation as an ultimatum,” he said in an interview with Natalia Mosiichuk.
According to Podolyak , since the beginning of the attack, the Russian side did not try to make contact with the Ukrainian side at the official level, at the level of presidents, etc. Ukraine wanted to get an explanation from the Russian Federation, but the Kremlin did not get in touch.
Ukraine did not make any other attempts to establish contact, except on the first day of the attack, says the adviser to the head of the OPU.
“We were ready to hold a direct conversation between the presidents at the beginning of the war. But there was no connection. There were attempts (to contact – ed.), but the Russian Federation did not respond,” says Podolyak.
So Kozak's calls are almost the only attempt to contact the Russian side with the Ukrainian side after the invasion. Podolyak explains Russia's reluctance to negotiate with confidence in its own strength at the beginning of the invasion.

It is worth noting that Podolyak's statements contrast with the Washington Post article, which claims that Yermak spoke with Kozak only once on February 24. In response to Kozak's statement that it was time for Ukraine to surrender, “Yermak scolded him and hung up.”
