The Europeans called on the citizens of Russia to stop the war and assured that no country or alliance poses a threat to Russia.
Deputies of the European Parliament appealed to the Russian people to stop the war. The vast majority of MEPs, in particular the leaders of the European People's Party, the Socialists, Democrats, the parties “Renewing Europe” and “Livy”, signed the document, according to Meduza.
“Dear European Neighbors, Dear Friends. A terrible, outrageous war that has broken out in the heart of our continent is tearing it apart. You know why. The Russian army has invaded Ukraine. Your president has decided to start a war against a country that has not attacked anyone. and just wanted to live in peace with all my neighbors and friends, with you and with us “- the beginning of the address of the MEPs.
The letter says that the number of victims of Russian military aggression is already in the thousands on both sides. The civilian population, forced to leave their own homes, is suffering, as are Russian families who are losing their sons, brothers and husbands. That is why the European Parliament is calling for an end to the war.

“We want to tell you today that no one is threatening Russia, that neither Ukraine, nor the European Union, nor the United States, nor the North Atlantic Alliance wish it any harm. No one has annexed a single square meter of Russian territory and is not going to do so. “NATO missiles, neither European nor American. No NATO army, neither American nor European, has entered or will enter Russia,” MEPs said.
The only threat to the Russian state is the actions of its leadership, which inevitably lead to economic sanctions. The only reason for the Russian president's war against Ukraine is the fear that “Ukraine can become a full-fledged prosperous democracy, free from corruption and the rule of oligarchs, and thus serve as a model for a better Russia.”
