It is a professional holiday of people without whom we cannot imagine modernity, without whom we cannot imagine the independence of our state. The Air Force has been preserved since the first day of the invasion, and is honorably carrying out combat missions. In six months 18 pilots were awarded the title of Heroes of Ukraine, dozens more were awarded state awards. Their skills, combat results have become a true legend. I have repeatedly heard the highest praise of our aviation from representatives of the armies and states of our partners. Today I thank all our pilots, all those who provide flights, prepares equipment, and everyone who helps the Ukrainian military aviation to be able to perform combat tasks,” Zelenskyi emphasizes.
The president also noted that on Sunday, decrees will be published on the celebration of Independence Day with awards to representatives of various professions, various groups of society.
“In general, since February 24, 27 thousand 760 of our defenders have been awarded state awards of Ukraine. Tomorrow, on Sunday, these decrees will appear. And there will be another special decree on awarding awards to friends of Ukraine abroad, our partners, our helpers in the fight for freedom, for the lives of those whose contribution is really important.
Ukraine will win. The people always win. And similarly, a successful struggle for freedom in the world cannot be a struggle of only individual people or individual states, it is joint work, a joint result, which is achieved thanks to the strength and solidarity of all who value freedom and who do not tolerate tyranny,” Zelensky emphasizes in a video message.
