Lyudmila Denisova was dismissed from the post of VRU ombudsman

Her term was due to end in March next year.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the initiative of the presidential party “Servant People ”dismissed Lyudmila Denisova from the post of Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights. The corresponding decision was made by deputies on Tuesday, May 31. 234 deputies voted in favor, said MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

Denisova's resignation was initiated by the “Servant of the People” faction, which gathered more than 100 votes to initiate consideration of the issue.

The faction accuses Denisov of lack of results, incompetence and submission of facts about crimes of Russian troops in Ukraine, which only damage the reputation, because they failed to prove.

In turn, MP Alexei Goncharenko published the results of the vote on the dismissal of Denisova from the post of ombudsman.

The Verkhovna Rada appointed Lyudmila Denisova Commissioner for Human Rights on March 15, 2018 for a term of five years. Her term was due to end in March 2023.
