EU discusses Russian gas embargo
Today, Germany is one of the leading EU countries in the issue of imposing an embargo on energy resources from Russia , said Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.
Two months ago, Germany said that an oil embargo against Russia is impossible, and now, and it should be noted, Germany is one of the leading countries that really “pushes” the oil embargo, – said Kuleba on Sunday after a trip to Berlin.
The Foreign Minister of Ukraine added that the introduction of an embargo on Russian gas is also being discussed. Kuleba says Germany has made a principled political decision on the need to give up Russian gas because Germany's dependence on it is a problem.
“They need a little more time to solve gas issues. But it is very important to understand that Germany has finally realized that Russian gas is a weapon that strikes , which Russia always keeps close to the temples of Ukraine, Germany and any other European country, “Kuleba said.
At the same time, there are staunch opponents in German society of abandoning Russia's energy resources and handing over the necessary weapons to Ukraine, but “they are not the majority in this country.” “Here (in Germany) there is someone to work with to move in the right direction,” he said.
