Kuleba asked the new Italian government for air defense systems

The head of the Italian Foreign Ministry made his first phone call to his Ukrainian colleague.

The new Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy after swearing-in Antonio Tajani made his first international call to the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba.

During the conversation, the minister assured that Italy's support for Ukraine will remain unchanged.

Kuleba, in turn, asked Italy to provide air defense systems to Ukraine.

“I asked that the next package of Italian military aid to Ukraine include air defense equipment. We are waiting for strong decisions that will be confirmed by strong political signals,” Kuleba said.

He also recalled that in 2017, the head of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani, put the last signature necessary for the introduction of visa-free travel between Ukraine and the European Union, and emphasized that “Ukraine is a very proud European country”.

 “We a really proud country, we will not give up and win. The help of other countries will save more lives and accelerate the victory of the whole of Europe against the common enemy,” the minister added.
