The meeting took place in Warsaw.
On March 26, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba and Ukrainian Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov met with US President Joe Biden in Warsaw.
“Biden's visit to Europe was entirely dedicated to the war. But talks with Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba and Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov were the first time Biden was able to meet face-to-face with Ukrainian officials during his tour,” CNN said .
Minister Kuleba spoke about the results of the meeting on his Facebook page.
“President Biden told us, 'What is happening in Ukraine will change the 21st century.' And he has a very clear understanding of that. And we will work together to make this change of the 21st century to your advantage, “Kuleba said.
Kuleba also conveyed Biden's words that the United States will firmly support Ukraine in everything until our victory. “Nothing will force the United States to turn away from Ukraine or weaken support – this support will only grow,” Kuleba said.
According to the Minister, during these talks the parties of Ukraine and the United States discussed:
- further US sanctions against Russia (not only against the oligarchs and Putin's inner circle, but also against all important politicians);
- closure of American and European ports for Russian ships and cargo;
- ways to motivate some European countries to finally adopt important sanctions against Russia;
- how and with which countries to work to prevent Russia from circumventing the sanctions imposed on it.
