Ukraine is ready to negotiate with another representative of the Belarusian opposition.
Ukraine will not recognize The United Transitional Cabinet of Belarus headed by opposition leader Svitlana Tykhanouskaya because of doubts about her political position, said in a comment “Radio Svoboda” Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Verkhovna Rada Olexandr Merezhko.
“Tykhanovskaya's position regarding Russia and (Vladimir) Putin is not clear enough. She seems to be afraid to call a spade a spade. For example, to clearly say that Russia is a terrorist state, an aggressor and an enemy of the Belarusian people,” he emphasized.
Among the leader of the Belarusian opposition, there are also people who have questions, Merezhko noted. And a number of her statements regarding Ukraine “caused misunderstanding in Ukraine”.
At the same time, Kyiv is ready to negotiate with another representative of the Belarusian opposition, the regiment named after Kastus Kalynovskyi as part of the Armed Forces. According to Merezhko, the regiment proved its position by helping to repel the Russian aggressor, and has authority among the Belarusian opposition.
