The Bundeswehr no longer has reserves of weapons that could be transferred to Ukraine. Germany is looking for other options.
German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht and Vice Chancellor Robert Habek said they had exhausted the arms limit that could be transferred to Ukraine, Tagesspiegel reported.
In an “Interview of the Week” at Deutschlandfunk, Christine Lambrecht said that the possibilities of delivering weapons through the Bundeswehr were exhausted.
“We are investigating what other options there are,” the Defense Minister said. “But if weapons are purchased from German companies for delivery to Ukraine, it is not a route that passes through the Ministry of Defense, but rather a route that passes through the Ministry of Economy, because then we are talking about arms exports.”

In turn, the Vice Chancellor and the Federal Minister of Economy “approved” the possible purchase of weapons from German companies for export to Ukraine.
“Where is the difference, other than material, whether the federal government supplies weapons from the Bundeswehr's stockpiles, or allows supplies from other stockpiles?” – commented Robert Gabek.
We will remind, earlier in Germany talked about need of creation of “Marshall's plan” for Ukraine.
