As can be seen from current events, the third stage of the war has begun, notes Serhiy Savchenko, Major General of the Armed Forces, head of the NGO “Analytical Center for the Study and Counteraction of Hybrid Threats”. During its conduct, certain offensive activity of the enemy in certain directions is not excluded, but mainly the stage will include the defeat of the aggressor and the liberation of our land. There are signs that our offensive operation is built on modern provisions of military art and will be based on the use of modern high-tech weapons, he writes in the material for ZN.UA “You are waiting for powerful fire training and a counteroffensive? It won't happen. Everything has already begun.”.
“Commanders should refrain from trying to liberate the next Ivanivka, Bohdanivka or Petrivka today without any plans and prospects for the development of the offensive. Often, settlements liberated in this way soon return to the control of the enemy. And our actions in this case turn into unjustified loss of material resources and, most importantly, precious human lives, – explains the expert. – This certainly does not apply to cases when the situation in other areas of the front requires such offensive actions.”
At the same time, in Ukrainian politicians should not demand immediate daily successes from the military: “Our military has proven that it knows its business perfectly and understands when, what and how to do. In this regard, the widely circulated information about the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's order the military to liberate the south of Ukraine. It seems that the military had not thought about such a task before.”
The military, and not only the military, understand that orders are given by Directives, which are complex in their content and fundamentally different from slogans, the Major General notes. The contents of these Directives, as well as the immediate action plans, are kept strictly confidential. Therefore, such messages are similar to PR actions, which is why they are perceived with some irritation.
The enemy is also aware of his near end. The only thing that can save him is a truce and the transfer of military aggression to the negotiation process. It is vital for Russia to consolidate the captured territories and gain time to prepare a new phase of aggression. Without a truce, the aggressor will be quickly and inevitably defeated, Savchenko predicts.
“A truce under any pretext – the export of grain, the exchange of hostages and prisoners or any other. Such a course of action, by the way, is prescribed in the so-called Gerasimov doctrine, which provides for the promotion of proposals for conflict resolution and peace-seeking.In order to achieve a truce, all the so-called “hybrid forces” of the Kremlin, and in other words, its agents both in Ukraine and abroad, will be thrown, the expert predicts. – But we already passed this in 2014 and we will not allow a repetition in 2022. We believe in our Armed Forces! Together to victory!”.
