By the end of the war in Ukraine, the oligarchs Shulyak may disappear naturally

The leader of the Servant of the People party is convinced that as a result Ukraine will be able to divide politics and business in a civilized way, without resorting to “dispossession”.

In Ukraine, big business used to earn on the state. We have been building a clan-oligarchic model for thirty years. However, the state urgently needs to continue moving in the direction chosen before the war: to separate politics and business. Olena Shulyak, the head of the Servant of the People party, spoke about the oligarchs, the futility of the register and the sacredness of the land in an interview with ZN.UA which spoke Inna Vedernikova .

“I will remind you that the law on oligarchs was the first and most difficult step to change the existing economic and political basis of the country. After the register, which was supposed to work in May, there would be other steps. Including changes in antitrust law and approaches to financial monitoring, “said Shulyak.

She could not say how this law would work (and whether it would work at all) in wartime, and whether it now has the meaning it was originally intended to do. According to the leader of the SN party, there may not be any oligarchs left in our country by the end of the war. However, certainly not because of nationalization or dekulakization.

“I am confident that we will be able to build a completely civilized coordinate system for the coexistence of the state and big business. However, to be completely honest, we still have antitrust laws and institutions in this area. Where, unfortunately, there were always people, if not supporters of the oligarchs, through whom they defended their interests and influenced state and political processes, “Shulyak said.

We will remind, the Supreme The council voted in favor of the law without waiting for the conclusions of the Venice Commission . As a result, then-Speaker Dmytro Razumkov and some MPs drew attention to a number of legal conflicts concerning both the definition of oligarchs and the body that will determine them. Inconsistencies in the law were corrected in accordance with Article 131 of the regulations .
