“From April 17, 2022, due to the termination of the Director's powers. NABU Artem Sytnyk, they will be temporarily executed by his first deputy Gizo Uglava. According to the NABU Law, in the event of termination of the powers or dismissal of the NABU Director, all his powers are exercised by his first deputy until the date of appointment of the new Director, “the NABU press service said.

From 1998 to 2012, Gizo Uglava worked in the Georgian prosecutor's office. Where he held positions from intern in the Imereti Regional Prosecutor's Office to Deputy Chief Prosecutor of Georgia. The Uglava's area of ​​competence included units whose main activities were the fight against corruption, money laundering and financial crime. In April 2015, he was appointed First Deputy Director of NABU.
