The World Bank plans to allocate an average of 200 each month millions of dollars to pay employees of state bodies of Ukraine and teachers of secondary education. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Finance of Ukraine Roman Yermolychev in an interview with Ukrinform.
According to Yermolichev, the Ministry of Finance is constantly looking for alternative sources of financing the needs of the state in terms of priority allocation of funds to counter Russian aggression.
In particular, these payments are prepared within the joint project of the Ukrainian government and the World Bank “Support of public expenditures to ensure sustainable public administration in Ukraine.”
Support of international partners, of course, is extremely important now. We expect that the donor funds will strengthen the capacity of the Ukrainian budget and, consequently, will help bring our victory closer, ”Yermolichev added.
He noted that, according to the State Treasury Service of Ukraine, as of April 1, 1,444 local budgets had the remnants of the education subvention in the amount of 7.5 billion hryvnias. In addition, in 1202 local budgets, 242 million hryvnias were accumulated from the state budget to local budgets to support people with special educational needs.
“This is also a resource that should strengthen the capacity of local governments in terms of financing education,” – said the Deputy Minister.
