The United States needs an enemy in Europe to maintain leadership on the continent.
Today, the USA is not interested in the defeat of Russian troops in Ukraine, since the presence of the Russian Federation as an enemy justifies the existence of NATO and strengthens its position in Europe. The states will try to help Ukraine defeat the occupiers closer to the end of autumn. This opinion was expressed by military expert Oleg Zhdanov during a broadcast on his YouTube channel.
According to Zhdanov, the main goal of the White House is not the defeat of Russia and its division into separate state formations, but the change of the political regime.
“Today, the USA does not need Ukraine's victory, it is conditionally needed tomorrow. They have elections in November. And the Democratic Party, in order to win over them and not lose the positions they have today, and they are very shaky in them, must show society that they are capable of solving international problems. For example, they will present Pelosi's visit to Taiwan as a victory,” Zhdanov said.

He emphasized that Russia is the main enemy of the United States in Europe, which allows Washington to rally around it other countries of the continent and dominate in the future.
“They need Russia to remain as it is. Because the presence of Russia ensures the viability of NATO. No Russia – no NATO. No NATO – no US leadership in Europe. Therefore, it is very important for the USA that the Russian Federation remains as a country that can potentially pose a military threat, especially to the EU. But by November, the USA will need a victory. It is desirable that there should be a change in the political elite in the Russian Federation and a change in the political course,” the expert added.
